– A Sanctuary of Compassion and Care for Cows
At the heart of India's rural culture lies a deep reverence for cows — not just as animals, but as sacred beings, symbols of nourishment, and partners in agricultural prosperity. Recognizing their significance and the growing need for protection, CARD established its Surekha Devee GauShala in 2018 in Boudh, Odisha.
Since then, our Gau Shala has become a haven for abandoned, injured, sick, and aged cows, providing them with shelter, food, medical care, and unconditional love.

Why GauShala Matters
Thousands of cows are left abandoned once they stop producing milk or become injured. Many roam the streets, suffer malnutrition, or fall victim to accidents and cruelty.
